Hey, I'm Travis Wild,

I started learning photography when I was 12 years old in an after school program a teacher offered. We’d pack film in dark bags and I learned how to develop photos in chemical baths the old school way. This quickly turned into a passion of mine and led me to shoot every opportunity I could. I learned the power of photography come with how photos age, the moments they bring us back to, when during school I took a portrait of our schools lunch lady and her daughter who was a classmate of mine. Sadly, the next week the mother unexpectedly passed away, and the photo I took was the last of them together. I was struck with the deep sense of just how important it can be to capture the big moments as they happen, but the little ones as well because those might just become the biggest in their own way. I’ve spent my life since then shooting sports, friends, music, travel, lifestyle, different cultures, and of course weddings and elopements.

I've been traveling around the US and world the past half decade as a photographer, videographer, writer, and officiant. I left photography in my early 20’s to work on counseling, communicating, and helping people in group homes and homeless shelters. At my core is loving people where they are at in their story and often this means capturing it accurately to tell their story. The people I’ve gotten to care for, experiences I’ve had, and travel I’ve sought out helps me to understand the people and places around me in a way that creates a depth to my relationships and work that I think is vital in creating authentic and meaningful visuals.

When it comes to weddings and elopements I love everything from the planning through the day of, but I also like taking care of my couples as people, individuals, and understand how much heart goes into the entire process. This is likely why I’ve been asked to officiate so much. My favorite stories are usually deep and slow burning, seeking out the truth in details, and creating a space to let the scenes play out naturally.

This ability to connect and communicate is why I’m a trusted ghost writer for many of the world’s best wedding photographers, outdoor brands, and why I have been able bring out the best moments with people on mountain tops, the fanciest venue, and when working in group homes. No matter the situation, a people first mentality is vitally important to me. I like to think my life is where empathy and adventure meet to create a life filled with love. My passion is to create ways to share these stories with people the way we’re all meant to feel them.

I’m also a van builder, artist, dog dad to Ayla, cancer survivor, advocate for the homeless, and athlete - lacrosse, baseball, and snowboarding being my favorites. I build out and live out of vans and happily spend a lot of time on the Oregon Cost, Truckee, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, and Joshua Tree National Park in California, Zion National Park and Moab in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.

That’s what I’m about, but it’s all to say I want to hear what you’re about.

What are your big dreams? What little moments do you want to experience? Tell me your hopes, your worries, the things which make you excited.
